The Schmeisser GmbH carries its name with pride: Hugo Schmeisser, one of the most significant firearms designers of the 20th century, stands as a symbol of innovation and precision. Continuing this legacy is both an aspiration and an obligation. Today, Schmeisser combines traditional engineering excellence with state-of-the-art manufacturing technology — setting new standards for high-quality firearms “Made in Germany.”
Our goal is clear: We develop and produce the finest Stoner weapon systems under the names AR15® and M16® at our Krefeld location. The highest manufacturing quality is a matter of course, as are rigorous quality controls at every stage of production.
Whether for hunters, sport shooters, or government agencies worldwide — all relevant components undergo extensive testing to ensure absolute reliability and long-term precision. This is the only way we can guarantee the consistently high quality that defines Schmeisser.
Today, Schmeisser is one of only four licensed NATO and German Armed Forces small arms suppliers in Germany.
At our Krefeld site, we manufacture and market a comprehensive range of short and long firearms. Our ambition is to understand our customers’ needs precisely and implement them with purpose. The result: modern, reliable, and innovative products that excel in practical use and real-world operations.
Our development department works particularly closely with government clients. This allows specific requirements to be implemented quickly and transformed into practical, ready-for-use solutions.

Innovation by conviction
Schmeisser GmbH was founded on more than two decades of experience in the design, development, and international trade of firearms. The founders, Thomas Hoff and Andreas Schumacher, combined their expertise to build a company that unites cutting-edge technology with maximum flexibility and uncompromising quality.
One of the first major projects was the development and production of semi-automatic rifles based on the Stoner system for the civilian market, as well as fully automatic M16® versions for police and military forces — nationally and internationally.
Continuous advancement is a core part of our company culture. New models such as our AR15 in 9×19 mm or the Schmeisser 60-round magazine for .223 Remington demonstrate how we connect technology with real-world requirements.
Our 9mm self-loading rifles — available in sport or hunting configurations — set new standards: flawless function with all common commercial ammunition makes them a reliable tool for demanding users.
